Group Captain F. Victor Beamish an Irishman was born on the 27th of September 1903 at Dunmanway. He joined Cranwell in the Autumn of 1921 as a flight cadet where he learned to fly. He was a born leader of men, a superb pilot and instructor. Hi autobiography by Doug Stokes makes great reading. I do not have the room to even scratch the surface of this great pilot and leader of men. If you are like me a reader of anything to do with the Battle of Britain then this book is one of the best.
Sgt J.M.Beard of No 249 Squadron baled out of his Hurricane I (N2440) safely on the 7th of September 1940 during combat with Do 17's over North East London at 18:00hrs. On the 25th of October 1940 he was wounded when he baled out of his stricken Hurricane I (P3615) after combat with a Bf 109 over Linton, Kent at 12:00hrs.
F/O E.W.Beardmore a Canadian of No 1 (RCAF) Squadron was ironically, born in Berlin. He was shot down over the Thames Estuary on the 18th of September at 10:30hrs, he baled out of his Hurricane I (P3859) slightly wounded. The Hurricane crashed at Dungeness. He was repatriated to Canada in 1941.
P/O Robert A.Beardsley flew with No 610 Squadron and No 41 Squadron's in Spitfire's during the Battle of Britain. He was in action on the 30th of September 1940, having attacked a Do 17 and a Bf 109 he became the prey. Six Bf 109's chased him and shot up his Spitfire with cannon and machine gun fire, He managed to land at Hawkinge and jumped clear whilst the aircraft was still rolling to a halt well alight with the airfield tender giving chase. 
P/O W.Beaumont of No 152 Squadron baled out of his Sptitfire I (R6831) after being hit by a Junkers Ju 88 off Portland on the 27th of August 1940 at 12:30hrs. He was not hurt.
W.Beaumont was lost over the Channel on the 23rd of September 1940 in a Spitfire I (R7016), cause unknown.
P/O H.J.S.Beazley of No 249 Squadron was unhurt when he baled out of his Hurricane I (P2988) on the 2nd of September 1940 at 08:00hrs. He had been shot down by a Bf 110 over Rochester.
Sub-Lt  H.W.Begg was one of the F.A.A. pilots seconded to Fighter Command in June, he joined No 151 Squadron on the 1st of July 1940. Begg's destroyed a Bf 109 on the 14th of August 1940. He was shot down on the 15th of August at 19:15hrs by a Bf 109 and crashed his Hurricane I (P3065 'P') at Shorncliffe, he was wounded. H.W.Begg was reported M.I.A. on the 15th of November 1942 when the carrier on which he was serving was sunk. He was 25.
Sgt. Marian Belc from Poland flew Hurricane's with No 303 Squadron during the Battle of Britain. He became a pilot officer and his score at the end of the war was 7 enemy destroyed.
P/O Robert Wilfred Garth Beley a Canadian joined No 151 Squadron on the 14th of  July 1940. On the 12th of August 1940 his Hurricane I (P3304) was shot down by Bf 109's and crashed into the sea off Ramsgate. P/O R.W.G.Beley was rescued but died of his wounds, aged 20.
F/O J.S.Bell of No 616 Squadron was unhurt when he ditched his Spitfire into the sea on the 1st of June 1940 during Operation Dynamo. He was rescued by the Navy despite being strafed in the water. On the 26th of August 1940 he force landed his Spitfire I (R6632) but was unhurt after combat with a Bf 109 over Dungeness at 12:00hrs. On the 30th of August 1940 J.S.Bell was killed while attempting to land his Spitfire I (X4248) after combat with another Bf 109. He crashed whilst approaching West Malling. He is buried at Lincoln.
F/O D.B.Bell-Salter of No 253 Squadron was wounded on the 2nd of September 1940 when his Hurricane I (V6640) was damaged in combat. He baled out and was injured on landing.
Sgt H.J.Bell-Walker of No 72 Squadron was on patrol on the 14th of September 1940 he baled out of his Spitfire I (K9960) safely after combat over Ashford in Kent at 18:30hrs. On the 18th of September 1940. His Spitfire I (R6704) was badly damaged and he was badly wounded when he was attacked by Bf 109's over Gravesend, Kent at 10:30hrs. On the 12th of August 1941 he was shot down in his Spitfire V by a Bf 109, wounded and captured while flying with No 602 Squadron as No 2 to S/Leader A.Deere.
P/O C.C.Bennet was an Austrailian flying with No 248 Squadron in Blenheim's during the Battle of Britain. He and his crew (G.S.Clarke & G.B.Brash) were killed in action on the 1st of October 1940. They failed to return from a Recce/Sortie off the Norwegian coast flying in Blenheim IVf (R3626).
P/O George Harman Bennions of No 41 Squadron crashed his Spitfire I (N3113) at Manston on the 29th of July 1940 due to battle damage. He baled out of his Spitfire I (X4559) badly wounded on the 1st of October 1940 after combat with a Bf 109 over Henfield, Sussex at 14:55hrs. He was a veteran with a score of 11 destroyed and 5 probables.
P/O N.J.V.Benson of No 603 Squadron was shot down and killed on the 28th of August 1940 at 16:30hrs. His Spitfire I (N3105) was shot down by a Bf 109 over Tenterden.
P/O John Benzie a Canadian of No 242 Squadron was killed on the 7th of September 1940 at 17:00hrs, while on patrol over the Thames Estuary in his Hurricane I (P2962).
F/Lt Hugh R.A.Beresford of No 257 Squadron was killed on the 7th of September 1940 at 17:30hrs. His Hurricane I (P3049) was shot down over the Thames Estuary. His body was found and recovered in 1979.
P/O V.Bergman a Czech of No 310 Squadron was wounded on the 26th of August 1940 at 15:40hrs. He baled out of his Hurricane I (P3960) during an attack on a Do 17 over Clackton.
Sgt A.Berry of No 264 Squadron and his pilot, I.G.Shaw were killed on the 24th of August 1940 at 12:40hrs. Their Defiant (L7027) was shot down by Bf 109's of JG 3 off Manston.
F/Sgt F.G.Berry of No 1 Squadron  was shot down and killed on the 1st of September 1940 in a Hurricane I (P3276) by a Bf 109 over Tonbridge at 11:30hrs.
P/O Roland (Razz)Berry joined the R.A.F.V.R. in 1937. He joined No 603 Squadron as a Sergeant Pilot and was commissioned in June 1940. Flying in Spitfire's during the Battle of Britain he attained a score of 7 confirmed 4 shared and 6 probables. 6 of the confirmed being Bf 109's.
