Friday the 12th of July 1940

Day: There were attacks on shipping off the Isle of Wight, Norfolk-Suffolk and Aberdeen but they were mainly against a convoy off Oxfordness, by Do 17's (KG 2), He lll's (KG 53). No III Gruppe of JG 3 (Bf 109s) joined with JG 51 for fighter escort duties.

Night: Sporadic night raids in the Severn Estuary in the Bristol area and over South Wales.

Losses: Luftwaffe 9: Fighter Command 4.

Weather: Fog early, then overcast with thunder storms in places.
