fighter-bomber attacks on shipping over a wide area of the south.
Night: Clear night conditions permitted mine laying over much of the East coast area from Dover to the River Tyne. Some light probing raids were made over a large part of the Southern half of the country. Adolf Hitler informed his Generals that he intended to attack Russia in 1940. He said that "With Russia defeated, Britain's last hope was gone". Losses: Luftwaffe 4: Fighter Command 4 Weather: Very fine, but with Channel haze. |
