Friday the 2nd of August 1940

Day: An attack by KG 26 (He 111`s) on convoy off East Coast of Scotland and another off Harwich by Erpröbungsgruppe 210 (Bf 110's).

The second Polish RAF Squadron (No 303 Squadron) was formed.

August the 10th was chosen for the all out air assault on Britain by the Luftwaffe.

Night: Light cloud at night brings raids on many RAF airfields including Catterick, Famborough and Halton. Other raids in vicinity of Romford Essex and the Forth Bridge. Minelaying over entire eastern seaboard and as far north as the Orkney Islands.

Losses: Luftwaffe 4 : Fighter Command 2.

Weather: Mainly fine, but cloud over the Channel and East Coast with drizzle in the Dover Straits.
