Day: Mixed enemy formations attempt many attacks over Kent and Hampshire. Some streams head for London, and an afternoon raid penetrates Sussex.

Night: Heavy raids of 200-plus aircraft at night on East and Central London and many Essex and Suffolk airfields.

Losses: Luftwaffe 9: Fighter Command 6.

Weather: Overcast,  with showers and  some bright periods.
