Day: little but reconnaissance activity, due to Luftwaffe conserving its 7th of August forces for 'Adler Angriff', despite fact that 10 convoys are at sea off Britain during this 24 hours. There was little activity.

Night: Nocturnal mine-laying continues off East and South East coasts.

Losses: Luftwaffe 1 : Fighter Command 2.

Weather: Medium-altitude overcast with gusty winds. It is the third successive and reasonably fine day.
