Friday the 9th of August 1940

Day: Various light raids and reconnaissance flights, mainly up east coast with occasional sorties over Dover and Plymouth. Sunderland dockyard was attacked and hit.

Night: East coast attacks continue at night with further minelaying.

Losses: Luftwaffe 5: Fighter Command 2.

Weather: Heavier cloud with rain at times with some bright intervals.

The Luftwaffe issues, then cancels  preliminary orders for 'Adler Tag' because of weather..
