Day: Activity was almost none until the afternoon. Luftflotte 2 then mounts a massive fighter sweep over Kent with 560-plus Bf 109's and 150-plus Bf 110`s from Jagdfliegerftuhrer 1 and 2, but defending fighters failed to make contact.

Night: Liverpool attacked at night by 130-plus bombers with diversionary raids elsewhere, including outer London and several Midlands towns.

Losses: Luftwaffe 17: Fighter Command  10.

Weather: Cloudy, with showers and bright intervals.
