Day: The Seelöwe invasion is postponed yet again, this time indefinitely. A few bomber groups crossed the Kent coast. A massed Luftwaffe fighter sweep of Luftflotte 2 headed for Biggin Hill in the South-East.

Night: Heavy raids on London with smaller raids on Glasgow and Merseyside. Mine-laying was resumed.

Losses: Luftwaffe 8: Fighter Command 8.

Weather: Overcast with squally showers with drizzle and low cloud.
