H.Junkers

Hugo Junkers was born in 1859. He was a thermodynamiesist for most of his life. He was described as a true pioneer, a multi-disciplined scientist and Technologist. His first aircraft flew when he was 56 years old. He did a lot of research on diesel engines and all metal cantilever wing structures and welded structures. He was retired in 1934 because he was thought to be politically unreliable. He was responsible for the designs of the Ju 52/3, the Ju 87 (Stuka) and the Ju 88 (bomber /dive bomber). He died in 1935. Doctor Engineer Heinrich Koppenberg  became the president of Junkers

Professor Otto Mader was director of the engine development department.
